Scotty is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and teacher who specializes in guitar, bass, drums, and audio engineering, with additional experience in viola and violin.
His journey into music began with piano, though it wasn’t until a year later, inspired by an orchestra performance, that he discovered his love for stringed instruments. Starting with viola, he gradually picked up more instruments and developed his skills through high school arts programs and forming his own bands, where he explored songwriting and diverse genres. At The University of Texas Austin, Scotty studied viola performance and audio engineering while touring with a country band.
Today, Scotty writes and records his own music, performing in three bands, including his own. These bands range from rock and jazz, neosoul, and Americana rock.
While his primary instrument is guitar, Scotty’s versatility across multiple instruments and genres, makes him a well-rounded music teacher. Known for tailoring his lessons to each student’s interests and needs, Scotty enjoys helping them build confidence and explore their creativity through improvisation and while playing in band settings.
“Music is a powerful way to fully express yourself, whether you’re playing it or simply listening.”
